Implant Treatment

At Özel Akl Poliklinik, we offer modern implant treatment solutions to address aesthetic and functional problems caused by missing teeth. Implants are artificial tooth roots placed in the jawbone, mimicking natural tooth roots. With fixed or removable prostheses placed on these long-lasting, lifelong artificial roots, we enable our patients to regain their chewing function and achieve an aesthetic smile.

In Which Cases Is Implant Treatment Applied?

Implant treatment offers an effective solution in a wide range of tooth loss situations:

  • Complete Edentulism (No Teeth): In upper and lower jaws with no teeth, where patients cannot use their full dentures due to excessive bone loss, implants are placed to support the dentures, increasing their retention. This allows patients to use their prostheses more comfortably and securely.
  • Posterior Tooth Loss: If the posterior region ends toothless due to the loss of large molars, a fixed bridge can be placed on a few implants instead of a removable partial denture.
  • Long Edentulous Spaces: In long toothless spaces, long bridge spans can be problematic. The support and durability of long bridges can be increased by placing one or more implants in the edentulous area.
  • Single Tooth Loss: In the event of a single tooth loss, a single implant can be placed to replace the missing tooth, without the need to reduce the adjacent teeth on either side, and a single crown can be placed on it.

What to Consider Before Getting Dental Implants?

An implant is an artificial tooth root placed in the jawbone to restore the function and aesthetics of missing teeth. Implant screws are structures of a certain thickness and width. Therefore, in the area where an implant is planned, the jawbone must have the necessary height and width to accommodate this implant screw.

Bone quality is also one of the factors affecting implant success. Furthermore, the gums must be completely healthy both before the treatment and as long as the implant remains in the mouth.

In implant application, one of the most important factors affecting success is the bone structure. The person must have an appropriate bone tissue for the implant. Bone tissue must be identified, and then implant planning should be done. A clinical and radiological examination must be performed before implant application.
