DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) hair transplantation is one of the most researched methods by potential patients considering hair transplant surgery. It involves directly transplanting grafts, taken from the donor area using the FUE hair transplantation method, into the recipient area using DHI pens, without the need for classic micro incisions or channel opening.
Also known as the "Pen Technique," this procedure uses special equipment/pens with fine tips that directly implant the graft into the skin when pressed, after each graft is individually placed inside. This operation, also performed under local anesthesia, requires more people in the team compared to other hair transplant techniques.
It can be stated that individuals with certain diseases are not suitable for DHI hair transplantation. Accordingly, hair transplantation cannot be performed on patients with Hepatitis C, AIDS, Lichen, or Pseudopelade.
Another condition for DHI hair transplantation to be performed is that the patient's chronic diseases must be under control. For individuals with chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes, a doctor's approval is required before hair transplantation can be performed.
Hair transplantation is a procedure performed using your own grafts. Therefore, if it is determined that the patient does not have a sufficient number of grafts in their body, DHI hair transplantation cannot be performed.
Finally, it can be said that the DHI hair transplantation method cannot be applied to patients who have undergone more than 3 unsuccessful hair transplant operations.
